Hipsway is a movie discovery app. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have. We don't sell your data, and we collect only what we need to make the app work.

Information We Collect

Your email address. When you create an account, we collect your email address. We use it to send you a one-time verification code to sign in — we don't use it for marketing unless you explicitly opt in.

Session data. When you're signed in, we store a session record that includes your browser's user agent string and IP address. This is used to keep you logged in and to let you manage active sessions.

Your library and preferences. Everything you add to Hipsway — movies, watched status, ratings, favorites, private notes, streaming service preferences, and saved filters — is stored and associated with your account so it's available across devices.

No tracking or analytics. We don't use any third-party analytics tools. We don't place advertising cookies or tracking pixels on hipsway.app or in the app.

How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate you via email verification code
• To store and sync your personal movie library across devices
• To filter your library by the streaming services you subscribe to
• To send transactional emails (sign-in codes only)

We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

Third-Party Services

Hipsway uses several external services to power movie data. None of these services receive your personal information.

Data Retention

Your account and library data are retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is permanently removed from our systems.

Session records are cleared when you sign out. You can view and revoke active sessions from your account settings.

Your Choices

• You can browse public lists on Hipsway without creating an account
• You can delete individual items from your library at any time
• You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us

Children's Privacy

Hipsway is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we'll notify you by email.
